WDC meeting discussed public safety, local developments, and upcoming events in the area.


Boston Police updates: The Harbor Unit patrols daily to ensure safety and enforce maritime codes, including the use of a drone unit for missing person cases. Security camera installations are increasing, and efforts to regulate scooters through enforcement and registration are progressing. Jet skis remain restricted to daylight hours but cannot be fully excluded from the harbor.

City Council priorities: Councilor Ed Flynn highlighted public safety and infrastructure concerns, including the need for ADA-compliant sidewalks and the reconstruction of a key bridge for emergency access. He emphasized community engagement, especially regarding the impact of BERDO regulations on residents.


Local events and activities: Boston Harbor City Cruises announced several summer events, including themed dinner cruises and thrill rides, with discounts for residents. The Greenway shared plans for summer concerts, family programs, and upgrades to public spaces, inviting volunteers to participate. Columbus Park to host a sunset cruise in August.


Neighborhood developments: A project at 150 Milk Street aims to convert an office building into residential units while preserving its historical architecture. The WDC announced an upcoming Climate Resiliency Forum video unveiling and noted local business accolades.
