Summary
The April 15 Wharf District Council meeting, chaired by Vice-President Matthew Murphy, included the following. The monthly update from Boston Police, another a quiet month in the neighborhood. There were three guest speakers. Rich McGuinness presented detailed plans for the Long Wharf Coastal Resilience Project, focusing on flood protection and enhancing public spaces. Alankrita Narang from Boston Harbor Now shared plans to activate the Harborwalk with a seasonal food vendor. Arturas Malinauskas introduced engaging historical walking tours. Susanne Lavoie outlined upcoming Greenway events including a spring scavenger hunt and summer gala. The WDC announced website updates, including an interactive dining and lodging map, and celebrated the recent “Love Your Block” cleanup. Residents were also informed of ongoing discussions regarding State Street’s bike lane redesign. The next meeting is scheduled for May 20.
