Summary
The meeting covered public safety, summer programming, and neighborhood updates. Officer Mustacchio reported no major incidents in the area, noting that Sail Boston street closures are still being finalized but are currently expected only on July 11 for the Parade of Sail, with no closures planned during the FIFA World Cup. Several local organizations shared summer plans, including the Boston Harbor Hotel's return of Summer in the City (June 12–August 28), the debut of a Trillium beer garden, and FIFA watch events. The New England Aquarium highlighted its summer hours, Dockside Beer Garden, and World Ocean Day celebration on June 7. Boston 311, Boston Children's Museum, and Old Town Trolley Tours also presented their services and upcoming offerings.
The Rose Kennedy Greenway announced a packed summer schedule including public art installations, a Food Truck and Fitness Festival on May 30, the Gala on the Greenway on June 4, and weekly artisan markets. Friends of Christopher Columbus Park shared plans for their Annual Membership Social and an Independence Day Celebration on June 27. Scroll & Stroll Tours announced a rebranding to Beaming Boston Tours, along with new interactive walking tours and a new America's Anniversary route.
WDC Vice President Matthew Murphy closed the meeting by announcing that the Wharf District Council received the City of Boston's Climate Leader Award. He also noted the installation of four new informational kiosks across the district and shared updates from a State Street meeting attended by Mayor Michelle Wu, focused on beautification efforts ahead of Sail Boston and the FIFA World Cup.
The next WDC meeting is scheduled for June 16 at the New England Aquarium Café.
